What is Podiatry Ultrasound Imaging ?
Ultrasound imaging is a safe non-invasive and painless medical test that helps our podiatrists diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions.
We use it to visualise sprains, strains, tears, trapped nerves and arthritis, and if necessary to help guide joint injections.

Your Consultation
HISTORY
Your practitioner will take a full medical, medication & lifestyle history if you have never visited the clinic before, or review it if you have. All your information is taken in a private room and stored on our secure database for your privacy & security.
ASSESSMENT
Before any treatment, your practitioner will undertake a visual and sometimes physical examination to assess the cause of your condition and the treatment plan they will follow to achieve the best outcome.
SCAN
Once you and our practitioner are happy with the treatment plan, you will be scanned using the latest technology so we can provide the highest standard of care in-line with evidenced based medicine.

Ultrasound scans form part of our musculoskeletal assessments (where required). Our practitioner will assess your suitability for an scan at the time of your MSK / Biomechanical assessment.
With a few exceptions, both adults and children can have a ultrasound scan.
